that I chose a Honda.....(and glad I didn't get stuck with that Volkswagon I first came home with.......!)

The husband and I just bought a Honda Ridgeline last week Thursday. We FINALLY got rid of, what I will politely call, the beast. (If you go back to my old blog site, you'll see loads of posting about that freakin' Mercedes!) We'd had enough of that behemouth - awful, awful SUV! And I will never (EVER) buy another Mercedes again.
I believe (not totally sure) the Land Rover, Hummer and Jaguar are all now owned by American companies and when that happen all quality kinda shot down the pooper. Just like the Diamler-Chrysler Mercedes. It's crap.
We have a couple other cars as well, but all are on the Consumer Reports top recommended. Never again will we buy without that little gem of a ditty! As such, we've had no problems since our purchases.
P.S. we have two motorcycles for sale - anyone interested? ? ?
:)
Couple other cars??? WOW! No a longer motorcycle family???
I like that Honda Ridgeline. It's very cool. Great choice! Glad you got rid of "the beast." I remember back in the day the start of your troubles with it not too soon after you got it.
The hubby & I are a Honda family & enjoy the reliability and GREAT gas mileage we are getting. He still has his Civic that he has had for a few years, although he is REALLY wanting to trade it in soon and buy a convertible (maybe an S2000???). He has been wanting to buy one for years, but that consertive side of him is holding him back. I tell him to "Go for it!...You only live once." :) Last year I traded in my Rodeo for an Accord Coupe EX (actually I initially got a Volkswagon...I'll tell that story another time), which I absolutely love. Although, I admit I do miss the SUV sometimes. I had been driving one for a number of years....that was my 2nd Rodeo.
Oh yeah, then there is the "Italian sports car" that is sitting in our garage on it way to restoration......
Ahhh. . . the S2000! One of Thomas's favorite cars! We needed the room, so the S2000 was ixnayed pretty quickly, although, not by me. I'm like you the, "one only lives once" philosophy.
You got the Rodeo just before I got the behemouth of a beast - I remember that. Did something happen to make you trade it in? Looking for better gas mileage since your commute grew? Hmmm . . . Do tell. Inquiring minds are nosey!
Yeah. We have 2 other vehicles besides the motorcycles. Actually, we are looking to sell one. We are trying to downsize. There is no need for so many motorized cars and such. ***I firmly believe the more spark plugs one owns, the less the quality of life one has. And yes, this includes lawn mowers!
(***okay, for those of you who don't know me and before you start sending hate mail, that's a joke, people. A joke. Sorta.)
Honestly, we don't need so many cars. The motorcycles are just scary and we never ride anymore. Thus, we want to unload those too.
Yeah, the hubby has loved the S2000 ever since it first came out. He obsesses about them sometimes. ;) I think he should just get one! It'd be fun.
Yeah, I got that second Rodeo in February or March of 2003, and last April I sold it and bought the Accord. There was nothing wrong with the ol' girl, I just decided I wanted to get rid of it before it started to loose even more value and get a more fuel efficient vehicle. As I said, I do miss it someimes...it was a fun, comfortable ride that was great for beach days, traveling, camping, and throwing the Merl-dog in, but on a day to day basis, I don't need an SUV. Just a nice, comfortable, reliable, more fuel efficient car. I have always loved the Accord coupes, and luckily ended up with my pretty sapphire one. I say lucky b/c I initially came home with a diesel Volkswagon, but had to return it the same day. I looked in to get a diesel beetle thinking it would be a fun and fuel efficient car. It was supposed to get over 40 MPGs! I picked out a cute blue one with all the bells and whistles, BUT BUT when I drove into our driveway and put the AUTOMATIC car in park....it started to roll BACKWARDS...yes, in park. I put the parking break on, and had the hubby try. It kept doing it. How could this happen in a BRAND NEW car??? Insanity! So, back it went to Momentum in H-town. I was so PO'd and disappointed and worried. Heck, I had already sold the Rodeo and here I was without a car. As we drove back home in hubby's car around 7pm on a Saturday night with me in tears, we came upon a Honda dealership. I said, "Quick, turn in here. I'm going to get a Honda as I should have done in the first place." I was initially thinking of getting a Civic coupe (the new body style had just come out), but they had none. Then I saw the pretty sapphire Accord coupe and it had all the things I wanted. I test drove it (I had test driven them several times before), and decided to get it right away that day. I got the EX-L coupe, and to save a little $ and get better gas mileage...the initial intent...I got the 4 cylinder. Luckily with the VTEC, I don't miss having a V6. I have plenty of power, and it has all the luxuries the V6 has. Anywho, it was a crazy day, but I lucked out not getting stuck with a LEMON, and ended up with what has been so far a great car. :)
