Interesting Twist

Sooooooo.....

We just found out we will have an interesting twist in our upcoming vacation plans to Pensacola. The very same weekend that we will be sun bathing 0n the beautiful white sands of Pensacola is also the same weekend that there is a huge gay pride celebration. Hmmm.... I haven't experienced one of those before. How do 3 straight couples fit in on the beaches during gay pride weekend? It'll definitely be an interesting experience.

Get ready for "tent city" on the beach! Should be an interesting time entwined with some pretty good stories. . . . . I'm sure "4 Breeders" will find plenty of fun and culture to do during Gay Pride!

Grab your rainbow colors and have fun!

. . . *waiting to hear stories*. . .

Errrr. I mean, "6 breeders". . . . I missed that there were 3 couples. I thought it was only the 2 of you as well as ETK and her hubby. Sorry. I'm sure ya'll will have a great time taking in the sights, sounds and most importantly, the ocean! I love, love, love the ocean! ! !

ETK's hubby's boss & his wife (who own the townhome we will be staying in) will also be there. Yep, 6 non-breeding "breeders." LOL!

I am sure we'll have a blast. We had so much fun last summer when we were there. Pensacola's white beaches are so pretty. Hopefully we can find some stretch on that long beach that is not crazy. I have a feeling we will probably stay in most nights grilling & playing cards. Perhaps one night on the town for some good chow....and "culture?" ;)

I think you should have a counter-revolutionary "straight pride" celebration...make signs and march and hold hands in public and all.

LOL Mom! In all honesty, we should be honoring our soldiers that weekend...right??? It seem like such an odd weekend to use for those often crazy celebrations and parades.

To everyone else - another Alli disclaimer: I do not want to give the impression that these celebrations are not important to some. I understand that there is still so much discrimination toward gay people. That is unfortunate, and this is an outlet to overcome that. (Although I think some of the activities during these celebrations don't seem to have ANYTHING to do to help that cause). However, it just seems odd to "take over" a town during a very important national holiday weekend that is usually a family oriented one. Also, I found it humorous that we ("breeders") just happened to pick that weekend to travel there.

;p

I'm just looking forward to the fun in the sun! I'm sure we'll have a blast!

Looking forward to spending time with ETK & Baby. Even if they think they will beat us at cards. haha! ;)
