Hope in the midst of grief

I am not a preachy or even a churchy person these days & perhaps should be more so. But I always find strength & hope in His Words....especially when I/others really need it. It truly does help me.

Psalm 18:2.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Are you alright, Alli?

Yes, thanks for asking. It means a lot.

My great Aunt, who was a very special, spiritual, and very funny lady passed away over the weekend.

It's a difficult loss for our family. I am heading to Ohio tomorrow for the week to join in remembering and celebrating her life.

Have a safe trip sweetie. You're always in my prayers.
I really love that you will be 'celebrating' her life. That's the most thoughtful way to honor someone who has passed, I think.
My sympathies to you and your family.
